Anne Sila & le Magnetic Orchestra
After studying at the conservatoire, Anne Sila decided to delve deep into jazz at the age of 18. The cellist and singer from Valence (born in 1990) hasn’t looked back since with all kinds of experiences from contemporary jazz with the Magnetic Orchestra and French song with Michèle Bernard and Gérard Morel to world music with vocal group Evasion. She’s jazzed up Barbara’s songs and put poems by Baudelaire and Victor Hugo to music. The double bassist François Moutin soon noticed her and invited her to New York. One night in the Big Apple she met Ray Angry who is now co-producing her first album. The pair began writing songs with statement transatlantic energy. She was persuaded to take part in The Voice (“I needed to do something unexpected!”) and reached the final. She can now defend her choice of music.
