Térez Montcalm

If her DNA is undeniably defined by jazz, Térez Montcalm is a real rocker, with a true power, an influential energy, a scenic presence... and a gravelly voice. This unique and mischievous tone of voice overwhelms us, since she has an unparalleled groovy way to sing in English or in French. In her last album Step Out, that she performed a lot in Quebec before presenting it in France, she alternates between quirky covers and her own tunes, she flirts with soul and she dares to sing Claude François but also Lady Day & John Coltrane.
Besides, she paid tribute to her favourite artist Shirley Horn with an album released by Universal and recorded in the United-States under the supervision of Gil Goldstein, with Steve Williams (drummer of Shirley Horn), Rufus Reid and Ernie Watts. It is almost a classic.
Térez Montcalm is everything at the same time, as she goes beyond limits. Only one thing matters: the emotion which is even stronger during a concert, as she knows how to speak to a public, in a spirit of camaraderie.
