À propos de l’édition

Following his success in 1984, Miles Davis once again gave his imprint to this year’s festival, which also featured a first Brazil night with Jorge Ben, Airto Moreira and Flora Purim. Cool jazz was in the spotlight with Chet Baker, Shorty Rogers and all the West Coast stars. Lastly, a new work was commissioned from Randy Weston with the participation of the Grenoble Big Band, a symphony orchestra and Melba Liston for the original arrangements. A special train from Lyon to Vienne and a coach service from Grenoble were introduced.
