Thomas Kahn

Thomas Kahn, a singer whose personal life has been full of strong emotions, is renowned for his unique vocal timbre and the quality of his performances. He is obsessed with soul, which in his view reflects the values of transmission, sensitivity, warmth and the tales of ordinary life. His voice is reminiscent of some of Otis Redding or Lee Field’s spicier intonations, but in calmer sections, Ben Harper might spring to the listener’s mind.  The reggae with which he grew up has also left a mark on his musical universe; The Gladiators and their mythical bassist Clinton Fearon, Patrice, Toots and Ken Booth whose voice and soul spirit all logically fall within the bounds of his vocal training.
