daoud (whatever you do, do not add a capital letter!) is a nonconformist. It is difficult to label the music of the artist usually called “jazz’s ugly duckling”. His jazz music is distinguished by hip-hop, house, electro or even disco influences. Indeed, he secretly cherishes this musical genre which appeared in mid-1970s. His first album GOOD BOY is packed with a powerful energy and an unexpected tenderness from someone who claims to be provocative in a joyful way. The bad boy daoud takes pleasure in working on his sense of irony and absurd, which is linked to his feeling of inadequacy. Based in Toulouse, after travelling between continents and musical worlds, the trumpet player creates original compositions full of boldness, offering a generous, happy and danceable jazz.
