À propos de l’édition

The international stars Ray Charles and Ella Fitzgerald arrived in Vienne: problems due to the absence of dressing rooms were resolved as the great lady Ella showed her true serenity. Tough negotiations were needed with Gerry Mulligan, who wanted to play without a sound system because he was so impressed by the Roman theatre. The audience and the visiting US musicians first experienced the talent of Michel Petrucciani. For the first time, afternoon events were organised this year, with a grand finale on 13 July in the town with a musical parade followed by a dance and fireworks on the theme of New Orleans.
