Emmet Cohen Trio

An emerging figure in the New York jazz scene since the turn of the 2010s, pianist Emmet Cohen greatly expanded his following in recent years with the success of his weekly concert series, “Live from Emmet’s Place”, which he broadcast during the lockdown. At the head of his regular trio, long involving bassist Russell Hall and drummer Kyle Poole, his music is just like him: open-minded, youthful and learned. Emmet Cohen can go from playing original stride piano to the most recent high-tech post-bop and revisits, in his scholarly, spontaneous way, the full breadth of 20th century jazz styles. His formally virtuoso arrangements showcase the seductiveness of a sophisticated music that is alive with a decidedly modern energy.
