Endea, who hails from Detroit, taught herself to play the double bass. Her instrument — which never leaves her side — seems to be the most terrific way for her to spread her limitless joy. Her double bass has been the key to every door she's ever wanted to open, from the Juilliard School of Music, Steven Colbert's Late Show, to the orchestra she's belonged to for several years. And Endea Owens's enthusiasm is contagious! Fully committed both to her art and her charity initiatives, she has built a terrific community of musicians, The Community Cookout, which offers free meals and concerts in New York's underprivileged neighbourhoods. She also recorded her debut album with Cookout, the aptly named 'Feel Good Music'.
