At a time when jazz fusion is making its grand comeback among emerging French groups, flautist Ludivine Issambourg is among its most pioneering figures. Back in 2014, she was already forging a lava-hot whirlwind of jazz, electro, funk and hip-hop and had developed an idiom whose originality has only been confirmed across her four subsequent albums. Outlaws, her tribute to great flautist Hubert Laws, who is credited on tracks from the Crusaders, Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea, was a major phase in her work that saw her turning towards an unapologetically groovy and dreamlike jazz-funk that was the perfect showcase for her talents as an instrumentalist and composer. Alongside her group of virtuosos from the French scene, this concert will be a performance of Above The Laws, the long awaited sequel to Outlaws and the exaltation of a very high-level repertoire.
