Aâma
Aâma
Singing of diversity and hope… That is what Aâma’s music offers. Radiant and hypnotic, alchemical and shamanic, the quintet explores the boundaries of jazz and blends Eastern melodies with the sounds of Central Africa, placing collaboration and improvisation at the heart of its creative process. It flows seamlessly between the lyricism of the East, the freedom of jazz, the narrative depth of song, and the rhythms of Africa. It is “the promise of a gentle journey”. Two voices of astonishing precision and intensity: Emma Prat (vocals) and Bertrand Maïlar (guitar). And a shared desire to tell a story, to convey emotion. From this meeting was born “Aâma”, which means global, shared, universal. More than just a name, it is a true artistic manifesto. Joined by Sami Foukani-Descamps (double bass), Julien Girard (piano), and Xavier Pernet (drums), the story of Aâma is that of five musicians who, together, have forged a unique sound by blending sensitivity and boldness while transcending genres and borders. In August 2025, Aâma recorded its very first album, Le Jour où tout ira bien, and established itself as a rising star of the new French jazz scene.
